John Peel Wiki

Changes to the look of John Peel Wiki will take place in the near future due to a new skin being rolled out over Oct/Nov across Wikia. Please see the Wikia Staff Blog for further details. On this site, the changes will affect the navigation from the left menu, as well as introduce a fixed page width with narrower content space. Please be patient while adjustments are made for the switch to the new system.

UPDATE: As the change is now in force for some users, I have switched the navigation to the simplified one for the new system. Please check Navigation in the Help section if you can't find things. I also initially made small adjustments to the front page layout, but have now reverted to the old look until all users are on the new system.

COUNTDOWN: Just a reminder for people still using Monaco that the final switch to the new skin is due on Nov. 3. After that, it will no longer be offered as an option. Sorry. Nothing to do with me.

Up-trail o dead

…And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead (often abbreviated as Trail of Dead) are an American alternative rock band from Austin, Texas. The chief creative members of the band are Jason Reece and Conrad Keely (formerly Conrad Sobsamai). The two switch between drumming, guitar and lead vocals, both on recordings and live shows. The band is known for their wild, energetic concerts, which often end with the band destroying their equipment. Their eighth studio album, Lost Songs, was released in October 2012. Links To Peel[]

Peel played tracks from the band's debut album in 1997 and would invite them to do two sessions for his show. On his 16 April 2000 (BFBS) show, he praised their performance at the All Tomorrow's Parties festival earlier that month:

"One of the high points for me was the set by ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead: a bit of an unknown quantity when they came to the gig, really, but they left stars, I like to think."

After 2002, Peel lost interest in them and they were rarely played on his shows.
