• Abstürzende Brieftauben in German means "Collapsing Pigeons" according to Google Translate, although "Brieftauben" can mean carrier pigeons or homing pigeons and "abstürzen" can be fall, crash or plummet as well as collapse[1]. So the band name may be intended to evoke pigeons falling from the sky, as well as parodying the similar-sounding Einstürzende Neubauten.
