- Playlist includes a couple of bands who were popular in the mid-1970s but faded away thereafter; session guests Starry Eyed And Laughing, who played Byrds-influenced country-rock and were favourites of Zigzag magazine, and Canterbury progressive-experimental band Hatfield And The North, with a track from their LP The Rotters' Club. The title was borrowed by writer and Canterbury scene fan Jonathan Coe for his 2001 novel[1] about three school friends growing up in 1970s Birmingham. It is set in the era when progressive rock was being challenged by punk. Music plays an important role in the story and one character buys a copy of Hatfield And The North's The Rotters' Club LP.
