Comments
  • Opening comment (parodying 50s cop show Naked City): 'Unhappily, recent John Peel programmes have been increasingly incoherent. So tonight, a determined effort to articulate clearly, and present the facts, man, just the facts.' Later, he adds, 'The strain of trying to get through the programme without saying "um" or "er" is beginning to tell: but, with a cask of fortified wine and a well-thumbed copy of 'The Bondage Yearbook' to soothe my nerves, I ought to be able to do it. After all, if Andy Peebles can, I ought to be able to.'
  • John describes the Cure as 'new boys bound for the big time'.
  • He labels the Korgis as 'a 10CC for the 1980's'.
