  • Plays five tracks from the new Robin Trower album, but admits he finds it "a little tedious." Seems like the original taper thought so too, as the pause button seems to have been employed for the last three of these tracks.
  • Less understandably, the first song of the night, Hard Workin' Man by Captain Beefheart, is also cut a bit short. Read here for Ry Cooder's recollection of his reunion with the Captain for this one.
  • After the Ram Jam track, admits listeners might be thinking he's played a lot of "rather unconvincing records" that night. At the end of the show, he judges it has been "rather a dismal programme" -- but points out that even Liverpool lose sometimes.
  • The Texas Wanderers track title refers to Deep Elm, the area of Dallas where Peel would go in search of rare records when he lived there..
