  • Two Euro dancefloor cover versions played from the Pink Floyd tribute album "Discoballs" by Rosebud.
  • After "Another Girl, Another Planet" by Only Ones, Peel says that he has thought he wouldn't mind taking up an offer from aliens to fly off with them (a la 'Close Encounters') - but changed his mind when he realized he might miss a Kenny Dalglish hat-trick at the weekend.
  • After playing "Liverpool" track by Cherry Vanilla, JP says he wishes he could be in the city the following night to see Liverpool (the team) take on "the rascally Hun" (Borussia Mönchengladbach, in European Cup semi-final second leg [1]). He can't do this because he will be in St Ives, Huntingdon (Cambridgeshire) to play "hot tracks" to "ungrateful yobs" (presumably a Peel roadshow gig), suggesting the 12 April 1978 show is pre-taped.
