John Peel Wiki

Changes to the look of John Peel Wiki will take place in the near future due to a new skin being rolled out over Oct/Nov across Wikia. Please see the Wikia Staff Blog for further details. On this site, the changes will affect the navigation from the left menu, as well as introduce a fixed page width with narrower content space. Please be patient while adjustments are made for the switch to the new system.

UPDATE: As the change is now in force for some users, I have switched the navigation to the simplified one for the new system. Please check Navigation in the Help section if you can't find things. I also initially made small adjustments to the front page layout, but have now reverted to the old look until all users are on the new system.

COUNTDOWN: Just a reminder for people still using Monaco that the final switch to the new skin is due on Nov. 3. After that, it will no longer be offered as an option. Sorry. Nothing to do with me.

  • "'Tommy Vance gets more mail than you, Tommy Vance gets more mail than you', they've been chanting at me all day here at BFBS. This may be the case, but I've learnt to live with disappointment over the years, and heartbreak, and so forth, but I must admit that two postcards and one letter is a bit pathetic."
  • In the course of discussing a newspaper cutting sent to him, possibly the first mention of the title of Margrave Of The Marshes occurs.

Tracklisting[]

(JP:: 'Are you ready to rock? John Peel's Music On BFBS: all of human life is here, stepping gingerly along the foul pavement that leads to oblivion.')
(JP: 'Always plainly miles ahead of anybody who might have considered themselves competition, I think....I wish he was still doing stuff like that, I mean, he still works but mainly doing that again, really, rather than new things.')
(JP: 'No zaniness at all. Actually, zany is one of those key words, isn't it? Whenever I see in the television pages of the papers and things, if somebody's described as "zany", I always think, right, I'm not having that swine in my house. Kenny Everett was always described as zany, and I hated him! Hated him!')
