- Start of show: "Well, that's one in the bag and two to go and I've got a ticket for Rome, although I must admit I haven't yet got a ticket for Wembley, but I'm working on that. On tonight's programme, a new session from the Damned."
- File 2 is a short file containing just the Damned session and Peel links. Ken Garner's The Peel Sessions (p.218) also lists plays for the Ramones' 'Sheena Is A Punk Rocker' and the Sex Pistols' 'God Save The Queen' (an extremely brief snatch of which can be heard between the third and fourth tracks below).

- Footnotes
- ↑ Indeed this Heron was led by Mike Heron, formerly of the Incredible String Band. They are not to be confused with the English folk-rock band Heron, whose two albums for Pye's "underground" label Dawn Records in 1970 and 1971 got some attention from Peel, but were largely ignored until they were discovered by psychedelic folk enthusiasts in the twenty-first century. The folk-rock Heron broke up in the early 1970s, which may have prompted Mike Heron to use the name for his own band, which played in a far rockier style than either the ISB or the earlier Heron, but had no commercial success and soon split up.
