  • "Those of you who are stationed in Germany will be impressed to hear that I've started to take German lessons. Well, I say take German lessons: I've got a couple of tapes that I listen to in my car. I haven't got very far with it so far: 'Zwei Tassen Schokolade mit Sahne' [1] is as far as I've got so far. If I don't move on from there, obviously I shall probably drop dead within six months, 'cos you can't live on that."

Tracklisting

File 1

(JP: 'Howdy folks, once again it's John Peel's Music On BFBS: focusful pop. I just thought of that actually: it's not awfully good, don't think I'll use it again. To start the programme....')
(JP: 'The Fall, the sole repository of all that's good on Earth.')
(JP: 'Originally done by Robert Palmer, who wrote it, I think. Is that the one that had the grotesquely sexist video that went with it? I said something beastly about it on Top Of The Pops, and apparently he wasn't terribly pleased. Well, I hardly slept, as you can imagine.') [2]

File 2

(JP: '(That LP) has some 52 tracks on it, but the band have another LP poised and ready to go on a different label which has 102 tracks on it: I look forward to hearing it, I must say.') [3]
