- Peel mentions his John Peel roadshow was at Bradford last weekend and quite enjoyed himself there.
- Peel mentions on last Friday being invited to the Feast of St Cuthbert at Oxford University, which he attended, where a Medic student asked him to play a Butthole Surfers record.
- Peel plays the Jesus And Mary Chain's new single, Sidewalking, and says it's the first time he's heard it. He then replays the track briefly after first hearing it and then plays the full track later again and then again briefly just after the Pickin' The Blues extro.
- Peel received a book in the mail and had hoped that it was something saucy, but it turned out to be a book by Charlie Gillett called Making Tracks: The Story Of Atlantic Records, which he said would be his bedtime reading.
