- Start of show: “ Well, good evening to you. Tonight we have two sessions for you on the programme. There’s a new one from the Buzzcocks, those kings of the ballroom, and we have the Fall also. They were recorded in May, but they’re still as cute as can be. Among the records, a long and disturbing selection from the Red Crayola with the Familiar Ugly. And we have two Cabaret Voltaires, three from Lene Lovich. We enter The Wondrous World of Wreckless Eric – decide we don’t like the carpets and leave again. We also hear Andy MacKay, Status Quo. Johnny Thunders, Neil Young imitating Loudon Wainwright, a whole host of things really. This is George Thorogood – not only George Thorogood – also the Destroyers.”
- Stiff Records something of a winner, with three more from the Lene Lovich album and three from the new Wreckless Eric LP.
- Mentions that the Faces are still one of his all-time favourite bands. Even though Rod Stewart “acts like a berk a lot of the time,” he’s still the only tax exile Peel misses.
- Full tracklisting also available at John Peel Papers. Many thanks for the uploader at John Peel Papers at Facebook for sharing the information. [1]
- Two recordings are available: both cover the whole show, but the Derby Box version is a considerable sound upgrade (and four minutes longer).

- (JP: 'And that's the end of tonight's programme: the Fall and that was called Futures And Pasts, and our pasts have been the Buzzcocks and the Fall, and our futures are the Yachts. (chuckles) I only put that in there at the end of the programme so I could do that: pretty clever, eh? I thought (so), anyway. You can make up your own mind about it, of course: a thought like that would have blown Dave Lee Travis' brains out. (Long pause while sig plays) Just kidding, Dave, just kidding. Have you ever seen the size of him? Keeps wanting to show me.')
