Tracklisting[]
- File start of show
- JP: "Tonight, two more bands of innocence are ritually deflowered on the ultra cynicism and opportunism that is this programme. What I'm saying is that we have debut sessions from the Glass Torpedoes and from Cigarettes. Plus another track from Kwangatasa Kwangacasatigutz (?), some Gallic perverts, and the usual grab bag of Two-Toners, urban guerrillas, worried mods, scheming ex-hippies, just plain folks, and...me - the most wonderful human being. Bet he starts with The Stiffs "Inside Out" again...so predictable."
- Stiffs: Inside Out (7") Dork
- JP: "Those are the Stiffs. I still think that's an excellent record on Dork Records and it's called Inside Out. New single from the Flying Lizards. Hope to have the LP sometime next week. This is TV."
- Flying Lizards: TV (7") Virgin
- JP: "Difficult to know when it's ending. Those are the Flying Lizards and that's the new single which is called TV. I think "you've made me so sore" must be five of the most flattering words in the English language. Me?...I'm a three minute hero"
- Selecter: Three Minute Hero (7") Two-Tone
- JP: 'The more you have of it, the better it tastes, I think. Those are The Selecter, the new single, and it's called Three Minute Hero. The first from Glass Torpedoes. I'll give you the line-up of the band if you like. On vocals there's Barbara Donovan, Drums and backing vocals. That's what it says here, yes, I think that's what it says here. Mark Coleridge, bass, Gary Daly in lead guitar. Paul Reason - This is Something New.'
- Glass Torpedoes: Something New (session)
- JP: "And that's the first from Glass Torpedoes, as I suppose they would like to be known from the Liverpool area, and that's called Something New. My enjoyment of it was slightly spoiled by the fact that I almost became an ex-disc jockey in the course of it because I'd stood up to look for something while the thing was playing and then when I sat back down, or was about to sit back down again, I put my cans on and then stepped on the cord, snapping my head forward with considerable vigor. Here are the Cigarettes and Frivolous Disguises."
- Cigarettes: Frivolous Disguises (session)
- JP: "Concise and to the point, those are the Cigarettes and that's called 'Frivolous Disguises.' And a version of that occurs on a forthcoming compilation of Lincoln Band's LP. From the LP Flex by Lene Lovich, 'You Can't Kill Me.'
- Lene Lovich: You Can't Kill Me (LP - Flex) Stiff
- JP: "That's Lene Lovich, and it comes from the LP Flex, You Can't Kill Me. A new single from Dennis Brown, At least I assume it's a new single. One always loses track of these things as I've never really had track of them in the first place. I get very confused, but this is Don't Want To Be No General."
- Dennis Brown: Don't Want To Be No General (7") Emmanuel Music
- JP: "That's Dennis Brown and a new single called 'Want To Be No General', slightly off centre I'm afraid, but worth playing I thought, and also historically inaccurate too, because I think if you were to look back over the last couple of thousand years, it's usually the generals who managed to avoid the premature funerals. Simple Minds and Changeling."
- Simple Minds: Changeling (7") Arista
- Jeanne Folly, J.L Hennig, VXZ 375, Hektor Zazou, Bazooka: Strawberry Fields Forever (LP - La Perversita) Invisible
- Martha And The Muffins: Echo Beach (7") Dindisc
- Glass Torpedoes: Tall Stories (session)
- Madness: In The Rain (12" b-side - My Girl) Stiff
- Cigarettes: Can't Sleep At Night (session)
- Beez: Backstreet Love (7" EP) Edible
- Family Fodder: Desire (7" b-side Warm) Parole
- Lee Perry: Bafflin' Smoke Signal (12") Black Art
- Clash: Lost In The Supermarket (2xLP - London Calling) CBS
- Katz: Talking'bout You (7") Katz
- Stiff Little Fingers: At The Edge (7") Chrysalis
- Cigarettes: Valium World (session)
- Glass Torpedoes: Forced A Smile (session)
- Circles: Opening Up (7") Graduate
- Negatives: Mon£y Talk (7" b-side Electric Waltz) Aardvark
- Satyr: Problem In The City (7") Stardust
- Special A.K.A. featuring Rico: Longshot Kick The Bucket (7" EP) Two-Tone
