Show is the third of four programmes broadcast from Edinburgh as part of "Radio 1 Week" and features quite a lengthy interview with Edwyn Collins and then later Peel mentions that the only band he's not met up with in Edinburgh is The Visitors. Later in the show John McVay from the band also turns up at the studio for an interview!
Peel's brother Alan is in the studio with him.
Tells a story about the first time he heard Otis Redding during his time in America.
JP: "Earlier in the week, I said I was going to play you the 12" version of the New Order single, because on the b-side, this is very rockist this I must admit, there is an extended version of In A Lonely Place. I must confess that I don't think it gains a great deal from being extended, but see what you think of it anyway."
