- The Tartan Lads[1] were the kind of Scottish entertainers who wouldn't normally feature in a Peel playlist, but the song here celebrates the wedding of Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips. Royal weddings were still rare events in 1973 and this one inspired a number of soon forgotten songs, including this and the one by the Cromwell Brothers played on 30 October 1973. .
