  • Many thanks to Jim for a short file "recorded on a Grundig TK141 via microphone off MW broadcast on our radiogram." It features the beginning of the show, two records and a complete (two-track) session by Man.
  • (Announcer: Radio 1 on 247 metres and VHF with Sounds Of The Seventies. Tonight, Top Gear with John Peel.')
  • (JP: 'I scared meself to death at the beginning of that 'cos I got the wrong switch on, and all I could hear was Radio 2 and it said, "This is Graham Freer." I said, there's no way that I'm Graham Freer. Anyway, it all seems to work out now. Are you alright? Alright. Thumbs up sign or something.')

Sessions[]

None of these appear to have been commercially released, and only the last is featured on the recording.

Tracklisting[]

  • Man: 'Come On' (Peel Session)
(JP: 'And that's the first one from the excellent group Man, and a very good band they are too. That's called Come On, and it occurs on their current LP.') [1]
  • Spontaneous Combustion: 'Sabre Dance (7")' (Harvest)
(JP: Starts very quietly, so turn up your little radios.')
  • Ash Ra Tempel: 'Gedanken (2x Compilation LP-Kosmische Musik)' (Ohr)
  • Man: 'Life On The Road' (Peel Session)
