
Arcade Fire are a Canadian indie rock band from Montreal, Quebec, formed in 2001. The band came to prominence in 2004 with the release of their critically acclaimed debut album Funeral. They have since won several awards including the 2011 Brit Award for Best International Album for The Suburbs. To date the group has achieved four UK No.1 albums, including their latest, We in 2022. Their music has been described as indie rock, art rock, dance-rock, and even "baroque pop", incorporating a wide range of instruments into their sound including violin, viola, cello, double bass, xylophone, glockenspiel, French horn, accordion, harp, mandolin and hurdy-gurdy. Arcade Fire have collaborated with artists such as David Bowie, Bruce Springsteen, David Byrne and Peter Gabriel. (read more on Wikipedia)

- Although the group's debut album was released shortly before Peel's death in 2004, Arcade Fire's music does not appear to have come to his attention during his lifetime. However, some of the group's songs did make posthumous Festive Fifties between 2005 and 2013.
