Peel played Neville's group, The Meters quite often on his shows in the early 70's and also played some solo material from Art Neville, who had begun his solo career in the 1950s.. He also gave airtime to brother Aaron Neville, who had a US Top Ten hit in 1967 with "Tell It Like It Is", becoming more famous than his brother as a result. But Aaron, like Art, only appeared in Peel's playlists in later decades, when the DJ obtained reissue albums of vintage soul and rock and roll from the '50s and '60s. Peel isn't known to have played anything by the Neville Brothers, the group featuring both Art and Aaron, who became very popular in the 1980s and 1990s.
