Links To Peel
Peel seemed to have discovered Asha Bhosle through the Filmsongs From Bollywood compilation album in 1999 which he played a track called Mujhe Maar Daalo on his 24 March 1999 show. On the same show, he hoped that Sean Dickson was listening, because he would have liked the track.
Bhosle also influenced one of Peel's favourite bands, Cornershop, who released the song 'Brimful Of Asha' in 1997, which was a tribute to the singer, ending up at the top of the 1997 Festive Fifty and also as one of the UK Singles Chart Number Ones.
