John Peel Wiki

Changes to the look of John Peel Wiki will take place in the near future due to a new skin being rolled out over Oct/Nov across Wikia. Please see the Wikia Staff Blog for further details. On this site, the changes will affect the navigation from the left menu, as well as introduce a fixed page width with narrower content space. Please be patient while adjustments are made for the switch to the new system.

UPDATE: As the change is now in force for some users, I have switched the navigation to the simplified one for the new system. Please check Navigation in the Help section if you can't find things. I also initially made small adjustments to the front page layout, but have now reverted to the old look until all users are on the new system.

COUNTDOWN: Just a reminder for people still using Monaco that the final switch to the new skin is due on Nov. 3. After that, it will no longer be offered as an option. Sorry. Nothing to do with me.

Aspects is a British hip hop group originally formed in Bristol in 1996. The core group consists of four members - El Eye (Ian Merchant), BeelziBubber Loucifur (Alexander Parsons), Old Mantis (Benjamin Weaver) and The Printer's Devil (Rory Donnelly). The group cut their teeth freestyling throughout Bristol, firstly appearing in underground night spots and later performing throughout Blighty and beyond. Disconnected with the 'virtual' music scene, Aspects were unaware of the existence of the internet until well after the turn of the century.

They released their debut album "Correct English" in 2002, followed by "Mystery Theatre?" in 2004. After a hiatus, they released their third album "Left Hand Path" in 2013.

Links to Peel[]

Peel had played tracks from their debut album 'Correct English' during the summer of 2001. The group recorded a 5-track session for the show at SGA Studios in Bristol during September 2001, though it wouldn't be played by Peel until December. Their second album "Mystery Theatre?" wouldn't release until November 2004, a month after John's death.
