Astralasia is a British music group specializing in electronic music in the Goa/Trance/House genres. The group originally started in 1990 as an ambient and dub side project by musicians of the psychedelic pop rock band Magic Mushroom Band. Astralasia soon established itself in the field of electronic dance music with set pieces from house music and psytrance. The group continues to this day, while the Magic Mushroom Band has not appeared since 1995. Astralasia collaborated with Simon House on their more recent albums, Cluster of Waves and Away with the Fairies.
Links to Peel[]
Peel had an interest in the Magic Mushroom Band's music since the mid 80's and when they moved onto the side project of Astralasia, he started playing their material until the late 90's, where he had lost interest in their music.
