Bedouin Ascent is a project of electronic artist, Kingsuk Biswas, a London born musician of Indian descent, who began experimenting with guitar, bass and percussion as a teenager in the wake of the Punk/New Wave explosion in the 70's. Later he gained an interest in electronic music and started releasing records in the 90's and beyond under various names such as Bedouin Ascent and Ways & Knowing.

Peel first started playing Bedouin Ascent's music in the early 90's and would play further material into the 00's. He nominated his track, 'Junk Force' EP, as one of his records of the month for October 2001 (Peel's Record Box).
