The Birdhouse was an alternative/garage/punk rock band from London, England, who were active around 1985-1990. The group originally consisted of Johnny Rev (Vocals), Kathy Freeman (Guitar), Mark Nicol (Guitar), Billy Scarr (Bass) and Max Cantara (Drums). The band released four albums and six singles between 1986 and 1988.

Peel seemed to have discovered the group in early 1987 and invited the band to do a session for his show in the spring of that year, where they performed four tracks. Further material from the group was played by the DJ until the spring of 1989, according to available tracklistings on this site.
