Broccoli were a 90's Scottish punk band from Dundee, consisting of Benni Esposito (Bass), Graeme Gilmour (Drums) and Grant Myles (Guitar, Vocals). In later years, Benni was replaced by Scott Stewart (Bass, Vocals). The band released two studio albums during their time between 1995 and 1998, as well as several singles starting from 1994 until 1999, which by this time the band had already split.
Links to Peel[]
Peel seemed to have discovered the band in 1995, according to available tracklistings on this site. Further material from the group including two sessions they recorded for his programmes between 1995 and 1998, were played by Peel.
In a 2016 interview with Punktastic, Graeme Gilmour admitted that he felt the band's first Peel session sucked:
"We record our first Peel Session for the Beeb. It sucks! Then it’s back to Frankie’s to record the mini album" [1]
The band's music was also played by Steve Lamacq. [2]
