Bucks Fizz in 1982.
Bucks Fizz were a British vocal pop group formed in 1981 and active until 2018. They achieved thirteen UK Top 40 singles, including their debut Making Your Mind Up which won the 1981 Eurovision Song Contest and went to no.1 in the UK singles chart. They had two more no.1s with The Land of Make Believe and My Camera Never Lies, both chart-toppers in 1982.
The original members were Bobby G, Cheryl Baker (formerly of 1978 Eurovision group Co-Co), Mike Nolan and Jay Aston, although Aston quit the group in 1985 and was replaced by Shelley Preston. The official version of Bucks Fizz, led by Bobby G as the only original member, was active with live work until 2018. Aston, Nolan and Baker however formed the 'spin-off' group The Fizz in 2014.

John Peel's Bucks Fizz
Bucks Fizz's music was far from Peel's own tastes, although their involvement with the Eurovision Song Contest led the group featuring in the Peel 1989 Eurovision special Douze Points. There is no evidence of him featuring or even mentioning the group's 1981 winning entry Making Your Mind Up, although his interest was piqued by a 1982 flexi-disc released by Flexipop magazine featuring a medley of Bucks Fizz cover versions. The DJ played a short excerpt from the recording, including Donna Summer's Hot Stuff and The Who's Pinball Wizard, so that listeners could guess the artist.
