
Buy Off The Bar were a Dutch indie band of the 1980s. They recorded four Peel sessions from 1986 to 1989, two albums, a 10-inch of the 2nd Peel Session, and a split-7 inch.

On his 20 August 1999 (BBC World Service) show, Peel claimed that Solex were the best thing from the Netherlands since Eton Crop and BOTB, ranking the latter outfit among his all-time favourites from the European country.
Back in 1986, the first of the four BOTB sessions had featured a cover of the Fall’s ‘That Man,’ with lyrics adjusted to refer to the DJ.
