John Peel Wiki

Changes to the look of John Peel Wiki will take place in the near future due to a new skin being rolled out over Oct/Nov across Wikia. Please see the Wikia Staff Blog for further details. On this site, the changes will affect the navigation from the left menu, as well as introduce a fixed page width with narrower content space. Please be patient while adjustments are made for the switch to the new system.

UPDATE: As the change is now in force for some users, I have switched the navigation to the simplified one for the new system. Please check Navigation in the Help section if you can't find things. I also initially made small adjustments to the front page layout, but have now reverted to the old look until all users are on the new system.

COUNTDOWN: Just a reminder for people still using Monaco that the final switch to the new skin is due on Nov. 3. After that, it will no longer be offered as an option. Sorry. Nothing to do with me.

John Peel Wiki
  • Category for shows or mixtapes with tracks for which the artist, the track, or indeed both, are not known. This might include non-UK releases, obscurities, songs that haven't been announced in full and can't be identified by ear, or automatic track identification services such as Shazam. To keep the category to a manageable size, please don't use for shows where Peel fails to mention which release an otherwise fully identified track comes from. This is particularly the case for older tracks, where it may have been played from the original single or album, or indeed from one of many compilations, and there would be no way to identify this in the future. Also, if there is no audio available for the track in question, then don't add to this category, which has been created to allow the identification of tracks, impossible if there is no way to identify them! Finally, also don't add tracks to this category which are clearly not from a Peel show, such as Harfe's Punk series or random tracks from Giles Peterson, which sometimes appear in mixtapes.
  • If you find a page with unidentified tracks, please add the category to the others at the bottom of the page if it isn't there, so that these can be more easily identified later.
  • The aim is to provide a reference list for people to work at, so if you can add the "unknown" details, please do so and then delete the category at the bottom of the page. If you are not sure how to do this, please contact Steve W or So.it.goes.2512
