- (This page is about the Scottish band. For the London band of the same name, see Chicane. For the Brighton band of the same name, see Chicane(3)).

Chicane were a Scottish indie rock band from Edinburgh, who changed their name to Chi in 1997, to avoid confusion with a dance DJ of the same name, who started having hits during that period.
Links to Peel[]
Peel became aware of the band in May 1996 when he played a track via their 'Just Not Sorry' single. Further material from the group were played on his shows, including when they changed their name to Chi and on his 24 April 1997 radio programme, Peel read a letter from the band who mentioned that they decided to change their name to Chi, so that it's not confused with the dance artist of the same name.
