- A cassette compilation from the collection of Peel Group member mr_maudlin, recorded from the BBC Radio 1 John Peel show but with no DJ links
- The show was recorded on Hi-Fi VHS from a good FM signal then edited to cassette. The inlay card has the edit dates as: 17-20 July 1991
- The tape was recorded from the July 1991 cover versions specials when Peely pre-recorded shows to cover (sorry) a holiday.
- The 'John Peel's Got Nice Legs' jingle is probably not contemporary with the cover versions specials. I think I may have added it at a later date and this tape had sufficient space at the end of the spool. I've a memory of Peel saying he found the recording on an old cassette. I assume it's from the seventies.
