Dawson

Dawson were a Glasgow punk band, who released three albums and four singles during the late 80's and early 90's. Some critics described their music as fast and dischordant punk mixed often with electronic drum beats in a reggae or african style at times. Members of the band during their time included Ali Begbie, Ceebe Begbie, Craig Bryce, Jeremy Reid and Richie Dempsey.

Peel seemed to have discovered the band in 1989 when he first played tracks from their 'Romping Egos ‎' EP. Further material from the band were played on his shows including two sessions which they recorded four songs each in 1990 and 1991. He also saw them perform with Teenage Fanclub in Glasgow on 16th March 1990.
