
Death by Milkfloat (often shortened to Milkfloat) was a post-punk band from Kingston upon Hull, Yorkshire, United Kingdom, originally consisting of Phil Dolby on guitar and vocals, Jonny Dawe (bass) and Steve Kelly (drums). They formed in 1986 and disbanded in 1993. The band released one album, 'Guilt Edged Steel', in 1992 and several singles between 1988 and 1991.

Peel discovered the band in 1987 before they released any records. The group recorded two sessions for Peel's programmes between 1987 and 1988. He continued his interest in playing their music when they shortened their name to Milkfloat for releases during the 90's.
