A 1967 promo advertising gigs featuring amongst others Dreamland Express and John Peel
Dreamland Express was a 60's British rock band named after a painting by Maxfield Parrish. The band consisted amongst others, Karel Fialka, who later had a UK hit single in 1987 with 'Hey Matthew'. The band did a few gigs, and had some interest from Chris Stamp and Kit Lambert at Track Records, but were ultimately never signed. Pete Townshend of the Who helped the group strummed guitars and write songs by letting them use his loft to practice, but the band probably disbanded sometime in the early 70's.

Peel obtained their 7" promo single in 1967, probably whilst he was doing gigs in London, including an event when the band supported Fairport Convention at Middle Earth on 1967-09-30 with Peel as DJ.
Not much information about the record is available on the internet, but it seems likely that only a few copies were made for promo distribution. After Peel's death, the single was found in John Peel's Record Box, featuring the titles 'Groovy / UFO', with the label as 'EMI', probably a joke by the band. The record was marked as made in 1980, either an error or the band showing a sense of humour to bring attention to themselves in the late 60's.
