Element were a British electro indie rock band, who were signed to the Creeping Bent label, consisting of:
- Jay Stansfield: Vocals/Guitar/Synthesiser
- Karl Eden: Guitar/Vocals/Electronics
- Mark Tattersall: Drums/Beats/Keys
- Alan Whitham: Bassoid
The band later changed their name to Transelement.

Peel first played the band's material on his show in November 1999 via a shared single with Mongoose. He would play further material from the group on his radio programmes, including two sessions recorded for his programmes in 2000.
