Peel played Ethel's single in 1987, released by RCA, who may have thought the success of retro jazz during the year, would make this song a hit. Sadly for RCA and Ethel, it failed to penetrate the UK singles chart. Before the track was played on his 13th July 1987 show, Peel describe it as a rare moment of intimacy on the wing ding.
