Before his set, Peel was taken for an Indian meal at the old Shish Mahal Indian restaurant in Gibson Street (building has been demolished, restaurant relocated round the corner to Park Street in early 90s) with Ken Garner, Sharon Fitzgerald and photographer Andrew Johnson. Garner's interview of the occasion - their first meeting - appeared in the Glasgow University Guardian newspaper, and is recounted in the preface to his book IN SESSION TONIGHT. Fitzgerald had written up an interview with Peel during a visit for a gig at the same venue the previous year for the fanzine Slow Dazzle.
