(This page is about the British band. For the Trinidadian singer of the same name, see Gypsy(2)).
Gypsy

Gypsy were a British borderline prog/mainstream rock band from Leicester, formed in 1968, consisting originally of Moth Smith (drums), David McCarthy (vocals, bass), Robin Pizer (vocals, guitar), Rod Read (guitar), and John Knapp (vocals, guitar, keyboards). The band made two albums and several singles in the early 70's. In America, the group were known as English Gypsy, to avoid confusion with an American prog rock band of the same name. After the band split, Moth Smith later joined Diesel Park West in the 80's.
