It Dockumer Lokaeltsje (sometimes known as IDL) is a Frisian band from Leeuwarden, Netherlands, who were formed in 1982 under the name Tropical Suicide. The band later changed their name in 1985 to It Dockumer Lokaeltsje, which is named after a Dutch railway service between Dokkum and Leeuwarden. The group consisted of Peter Sijbenga, Sytze Essen and Fritz de Jong, who disbanded in 1988 when Sijbenga joined the band Deinum and the rest left for hardcore band Dick. It Dockumer Lokaeltsje reformed twice in 1990 and 2014 before deciding to do only occasional gigs.
Links To Peel
Peel mentioned on Peel 057 (BFBS) from 10th April 1987 that he received a letter and the band's album from member, Fritz de Jong, who wrote to Peel about the group and where they came from. The album called 'Wil Met U Neuken!' translates from Dutch as 'Want To Fuck You!', which Peel never mentioned. The group were played quite regularly on Peel's show between 1987 and 1988.
