Links to Peel[]
Peel played some of the artist's material in the late 70's and early 80's, but didn't seem to play further tracks, according to available tracklistings on this site. His friend and colleague, Andy Kershaw, was an admirer of Joe Ely, and played much of the singer's material, including his group, the Flatlanders, on his radio programmes. Both Ely himself and fellow Flatlanders Butch Hancock and Jimmie Dale Gilmore did Kershaw sessions during visits to the UK in the early 1990s.
