
Khaya were a Scottish indie band formed in Edinburgh in 1996 and split up, apparently 'on stage', some time after the release of their final 2001 album, The Lost Feeling. Band members included: Dan Mutch (words, guitar), Greg Dodgson (keyboards), John Mackie (bass), Caroline Evens (violin), Pete Harvey (cello) and Richie Anderson (drums).

First played by Peel in 1998. The band later did two sessions for Peel's shows between 1999 and 2000. Peel nominated their album, Avoidance, as one of his albums for January 2000 (Peel's Record Box) and their single, The Lost Feeling EP, as one of his singles for March 2001 (Peel's Record Box).
