John Peel Wiki

Changes to the look of John Peel Wiki will take place in the near future due to a new skin being rolled out over Oct/Nov across Wikia. Please see the Wikia Staff Blog for further details. On this site, the changes will affect the navigation from the left menu, as well as introduce a fixed page width with narrower content space. Please be patient while adjustments are made for the switch to the new system.

UPDATE: As the change is now in force for some users, I have switched the navigation to the simplified one for the new system. Please check Navigation in the Help section if you can't find things. I also initially made small adjustments to the front page layout, but have now reverted to the old look until all users are on the new system.

COUNTDOWN: Just a reminder for people still using Monaco that the final switch to the new skin is due on Nov. 3. After that, it will no longer be offered as an option. Sorry. Nothing to do with me.

Knifehandchop

Knifehandchop is the stage name of Canadian breakcore artist, Billy Pollard, born in 1981 from Toronto, Canada. Billy has been making music since the age of fifteen, when the arrival of a computer made the trials, tribulations and compromises of band life a thing of the past for him. Without looking back, Billy took to the computer and began crafting beats and sounds rooted in influences ranging from hip hop producers (like Timbaland, the Neptunes and RZA) and underground electronic producers (like Venetian Snares & Kid 606) to hardcore producers (like Hellfish, DJ Traffik and DJ Radium). He has released 3 albums and several singles, but since the 2010's, has been releasing much of his music on the internet.

Links to Peel[]

Peel first got into Knifehandchop's music in 2000 and would nominate many of his singles and albums as records of some months between 2001 and 2003 in his Record Box. In 2003, Peel invited the artist to do a session for his show, which he performed a mix. JP described the artist as one of the most exciting & original producers around today. [1] After Peel's death, Knifehandchop paid tribute to the DJ by releasing a John Peel Riddim mix on his Soundcloud account. [2]
