Kreidler is a German band from Düsseldorf, Germany, which was founded in 1994. The band combines electronic and analog instruments, and is categorized by critics, depending on the publication, as electronic music, pop, avant-garde, post rock, IDM, ambient, neoclassical, krautrock, or electronica. Current members of the group include Thomas Klein, Alexander Paulick, Andreas Reihse and Detlef Weinrich. Stefan Schneider was also previously a member of the group.

Peel seemed to have first played Kreidler's material in 1996, where he played tracks from their 'Weekend' album. Further tracks from the group were played on his shows and he nominated their self titled, as one of his albums for October 2000 (Peel's Record Box) and November 2000 (Peel's Record Box). When the band released their single in joint with Chicks On Speed, he nominated it as one of his singles for December 2001 (Peel's Record Box) and January 2002 (Peel's Record Box).
