L' Augmentation was an English indie band from Birmingham founded in 1996 consisting of Simon Vincent - Keyboards, Vocals, Lisa Sellick - Trumpet, Jim Smith - Bass Guitar and Angela Cross (Williams) - Drums, Flute, Accordion. The group's name derives from the French song by Jacques Dutronc. The band released several singles in the late 90's, before releasing their only album, Pigalle, in 1999.
Links to Peel[]
Peel played the group's debut single, Soleil, in 1998 and would play further material including their session in 1999. However, by the end of 2000, the group seemed to have split up and no further airplay from the band was played by the DJ.
