The Luddites were an early 80's British post punk band from Hull, who only released two singles before splitting up. Drummer Dave Stead later joined the Beautiful South, a band formed in 1988 by Paul Heaton and Dave Hemingway, two former members of the Hull group The Housemartins, both of whom performed lead and backing vocals.
