The Marxist Brothers were a Zimbabwean group playing Sungura music, consisting of brothers Simon Chimbetu and Naison Chimbetu, along with Solo Makore. The group named themselves after the Marxist ideology that was prevailing through the brothers war experiences when Zimbabwe was fighting for its independence.
Together, the siblings penned songs like "Dr Nero"(Naison) and "Nherera"(Simon) which gave them visibility on the Zimbabwean music scene. After recording several albums together, the two split in 1988 with Simon forming his own band, The Orchestra Dendera Kings while Naison formed his Gee 7 Commandos.
