John Peel Wiki

Changes to the look of John Peel Wiki will take place in the near future due to a new skin being rolled out over Oct/Nov across Wikia. Please see the Wikia Staff Blog for further details. On this site, the changes will affect the navigation from the left menu, as well as introduce a fixed page width with narrower content space. Please be patient while adjustments are made for the switch to the new system.

UPDATE: As the change is now in force for some users, I have switched the navigation to the simplified one for the new system. Please check Navigation in the Help section if you can't find things. I also initially made small adjustments to the front page layout, but have now reverted to the old look until all users are on the new system.

COUNTDOWN: Just a reminder for people still using Monaco that the final switch to the new skin is due on Nov. 3. After that, it will no longer be offered as an option. Sorry. Nothing to do with me.

Mighty Force

Mighty Force were a British electronic house group from Liverpool active between the late 80's and early 90's consisting of Adam West, Rob Fielding and Simeon Davies. The group released three singles between 1988 and 1992. They also released one album, Hypnovel, in 1992.

Peel was enthusiastic in 1988 about the group's debut single, Thrashing A Dead House, and reviewed the track in Hitlist, where he added it as one of his records of the week:

"I include this for several reasons since it represents a number of interests and concerns of mine. Firstly, it's an extremely good House record but it differs in that instead of sampling the usual stuff they're included bits of Napalm Death and Extreme Noise Terror and it really does work rather well. Also, it has to be said that Mighty Force are from Liverpool which disposes me kindly towards them."

The group later did a session for Peel's show in 1990 before disappearing after 1992.
