John Peel Wiki

Changes to the look of John Peel Wiki will take place in the near future due to a new skin being rolled out over Oct/Nov across Wikia. Please see the Wikia Staff Blog for further details. On this site, the changes will affect the navigation from the left menu, as well as introduce a fixed page width with narrower content space. Please be patient while adjustments are made for the switch to the new system.

UPDATE: As the change is now in force for some users, I have switched the navigation to the simplified one for the new system. Please check Navigation in the Help section if you can't find things. I also initially made small adjustments to the front page layout, but have now reverted to the old look until all users are on the new system.

COUNTDOWN: Just a reminder for people still using Monaco that the final switch to the new skin is due on Nov. 3. After that, it will no longer be offered as an option. Sorry. Nothing to do with me.

Milk Monitors

The Milk Monitors were an English indie rock band, comprising initially of Keith McAndrew, Marc Monitor, Max Daly and Jason Wood (later to be replaced by Tark Sutherland and briefly by Pat Waters). Jake Harding later joined. The band released a single ('Dance With Me') in 1988 and an album ('Revenge') in 1989, before splitting up. Jake Harding and Keith McAndrew later formed the band Revs (they released several singles and a compilation album between 1991 and 1993), with John Honeysett, before Jake moved to New Zealand and joined D4.

Links to Peel[]

Peel discovered the band in 1987, before the group released any records and invited them to do a session for his show. Impressed by their debut session, he invited the group to do a second session, both sessions took place in 1987. Their 'When All Else Fails' track from the 'Dance With Me' single was played by Peel in April 1988, but by the time the band released their debut album in 1989, he seemed to have lost interest in them and never played any material from them. However, when the band Revs were formed, Peel did play their track, 'Just Ask Why'.
