Natural Scientist was a new wave group from Morecambe, Lancashire, consisting of:

  • Dave Willan (Drums)
  • Ian "Iggy" Brockbank (Bass, Vocals)
  • Stuart Baldwin (Guitar, vocals)
  • Neil Crossley (Keyboards, Bass, Vocals)
  • Pete Mashiter (Keyboards)
  • Boris Forrest (Guitar, Lead Vocals)

The band released three singles between 1981 and 1984.

Peel had the group do a session for his show in 1981 after hearing their debut single, 'Terminal Velocity'. He would play further tracks from the band on his shows until the mid-80's, when the group split up.
