Nick Kamen was a British model and pop singer who had a string of hit singles in the UK & Europe between 1986 and 1990. He became widely known in the UK for his role in the 1985 Levi's "launderette" commercial, where he stripped to his boxer shorts in a 1950s-style launderette while he waited for his blue jeans to wash.
Kamen died in May 2021, aged 59, following three years with bone marrow cancer. Madonna, who had co-written and co-produced Kamen's debut hit Each Time You Break My Heart, were among those who paid tribute.
Nick's brother Chester Kamen is a session guitarist, known to have recorded with artists such as Bryan Ferry, Duran Duran, Associates and Massive Attack.
