11 November 1988 (BFBS)

(JP: 'Howdy pards, it's time to roll back rug and nail up the door, another John Peel's Music from BFBS, more fun than you can shake a stick at. Is that clear?')
  • Whirl: 'Clear (12")' (September)
(JP: 'A substantial improvement over their first release of about a year ago, I think.')
(JP: 'Yet another guitarist brought up on Neil Young guitar solos, but I can live with that.')

18 November 1988 (BFBS)

(JP: 'Hello pals, it's another edition of John Peel's Music from BFBS, and after I'd finished last week's programme and pushed myself away with the usual kind of warm glow of self-satisfaction, it occurred to me that I'd not played you any records at all by the Fall: clearly an appalling oversight, so here's one to start this week's programme.')
(JP: 'I think we've all encountered Shepherd's Bush man in one form or another, at one time or another: I keep a cattle-prod in the back of the car just in case.')
(JP: 'They used to be in a hippy band called the Pot Noodles...ha ha ha, make a little joke at the end of the programme is rather good, don't you?')

25 November 1988

(JP: 'I say this because I suspect that it is probably true that in another twenty years' time, Around Midnight is not going to be featuring the music of Napalm Death, but this is a pity, I think.')
(JP: 'Ah, I'm filled with a great and unwholesome love for them.')
