
Pete Best Beatles was an 80's Australian pub rock comedy act from Melbourne, Australia, who released one album and a single between 1984 and 1985 consisting of Frank Savage, Gary Adams, James Williams, Johnny Topper and Rod Hayward. The band are named after Pete Best, who was the original drummer of the Beatles between 1960 and 1962.

Peel was fond of the band's 'Alamein Train' track and mentioned on his 04 December 1984 show that it was a gem and would have voted the song in the 1984 Festive Fifty. He revisited the song in the 90's on his 17 October 1992 and 18 October 1992 (BFBS) radio programmes.
