Pink were a Japanese 80's pop rock band featuring throughout their period, Atsunobu Yakabe, Hajime Okano, Hidehiro Shibuya, Hidenori Yokoyama, Hoppy Kamiyama, Steve Eto and Yutaka Fukuoka. They released 6 albums and 5 singles before splitting up.

The band's Scanner track got played in 1986 on Janice & John In Japan, a series of programmes, broadcast on BBC Radio One between 20th and 23rd October 1986, presented by Janice Long and John Peel, who were both in Japan for BBC Radio One presenting music and culture in the country.

Peel also chose a track from the group, as one of 11 Japanese records that he bought in the country, which was broadcast on the Suntory Sound Market programme on Tokyo FM in 1987.
